HAMLET - Darla S. Binion, 79, of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Franciscan East Hospital in Lafayette following an illness.

Born Dec. 11, 1945, in Martin, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Millie (Salyers) Childers. She married Virgil Binion on Dec. 27, 1962, in North Judson, and he survives.

She is also survived by three children, Virgil "Butch" (Charlotte) Binion of North Judson, Janet Binion of Knox, and William "Keith" Binion of Monterey; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Childers of North Judson; and one sister, Judy Campbell of Grovertown.

She was preceded in death by one son, Charles "Eddie" Binion, and one sister, Mary Lynn "Pumpkin" Hart.

Mrs. Binion had lived in Monterey since 2003 and was a dedicated homemaker. She had a passion for playing bingo and especially cherished the time spent with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CST0, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. (CST), also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Monterey Cemetery.
