NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Shirley Ann James Galbreath, 83, a resident of Naperville, Ill. since 1987, formerly of Lansing, Ill, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, at her home.

She was born July 26, 1933 in Winamac, daughter of the late Forest and Nellie James.

She was the wife of 56 years to Thomas W. "Tom" Galbreath, whom she married June 6, 1954 and who preceded her in death on May 26, 2010; mother of Cindy (Bill) Kacak of Naperville, T.J. (Cindy) Galbreath of Oswego, Ill,; grandmother of Matt (fiancée, Rita Haggarty) Welsch and Alex (Maggie) Welsch; sister of Joan (the late Randy) Graves, aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.

Mrs. Galbreath grew up on a cattle farm in Winamac, the youngest of 12 children, and lived in Lansing, Ill. for many years before coming to Naperville. She enjoyed gardening and will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and homemaker.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6, at Friedrich- Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. A private interment will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
