WINAMAC - Theodore P. “Ted” Hanson, 73, of Lake Bruce (formerly of Hobart), passed away Friday, Dec. 22, at his home.

He was born July 6, 1950 in Chicago. He graduated from Morton High School in Hammond. On July 3, 1993, he married Barbara L. [Call] Martin in Hammond. She survives.

Mr. Hanson worked as a policeman and a train dispatcher for Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad and retired after over 35 years. He and his wife liked traveling. For over 20 years they took trips to the UP where they would fish and enjoy boat rides together. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Football fan. He adored his dogs, Wrigley, Addison and Bruiser. Most of all, he loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was blessed to have met his two great-grandsons before he passed away.

The family will host a celebration of life service at a later date.

Memorials donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
