WINAMAC - Lois I. Brown, 69, of Star City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born Dec. 1, 1948 in Logansport to the late Clarence and Annabelle Myers Grassmeyer. On July 1, 1965 she married James L. Brown Sr. at the Methodist Church in Walton. He survives.

Mrs. Brown was a retired nursing technician at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Richards officiating. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Stephen C. Girton

December 17, 1950 to February 12, 2018

WINAMAC - Stephen C. "Steve" Girton, 67, of Winamac, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 12, in Chesterton.

He was born Dec. 17, 1950 in Logansport, to Donald and Virginia Earhart Girton. He grew up in Winamac and attended Winamac High School. On Dec. 31, 1991, he married Kris Swartzell in Winamac. She survives.

Mr. Girton was a retired assistant manager at CFS in Winamac. He was currently driving semi-trucks for Murray Leasing. He was a member, past president and current secretary of the Winamac Eagles #2580. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed tinkering on small projects and reading Westerns. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb., 17, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. An Eagles service will follow at 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Marjorie B. Hanus

August 19, 1930 to February 12, 2018

WINAMAC - Marjorie Bertha "Chiz" Hanus, 87, of Winamac, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

She was born Aug. 19, 1930 in Pulaski, to the late John William and Cora Link Reutebuch. On June 19, 1954 she married Chester J. Hanus at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski. He died Dec. 19, 2001.

Mrs. Hanus was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski and the Christian Mothers Society. She loved playing cards. She was an avid Cubs and IU fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A scriptural wake service will begin at 4 p.m., and a rosary service will be at 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph West Cemetery, Pulaski.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

MEDARYVILLE - Betty Lou Gerike, 87, of Medaryville, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 12, at Paoli Health & Living, Paoli.

She was born in Longview, IL on Jan. 17, 1931 to the late Albert and Ann Jeffers Gerike.

March 31, 1930 to February 10, 2018

MEDARYVILLE - Audrey E. Allen, 87, of Rensselaer, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1930 in Medaryville, to the late Alfred and Georgia Wilson Archer. On Aug. 2, 1947, she married James A. Allen. He passed away Oct. 18, 2004.

She is survived by:

Mrs. Allen was a registered nurse, having worked at St. Mary Medical Center in Gary, and Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. She was also proud to be a devoted pastor's wife for over 30 years. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Bible Church in Francesville. She loved her cat, Miss Kitty, very much. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren very much. She will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Independence Cemetery,  Medaryville, with Rev. Leonard Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

Robert E. Graham

September 26, 1948 to February 10, 2018

WINAMAC - Robert Eugene "Bob" Graham, 69, of Winamac, passed away peacefully at 10:31 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 26, 1948 in Cook County, IL to the late Kathleen Graham. He was raised in Francesville, where he attended Francesville High School before serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On Sept. 28, 1972, he married Janet Disinger. She survives.

Mr. Graham was a lifelong truck driver and owner of Graham Trucking. He hauled steel, grain and tomatoes and also drove a gas truck for Good Oil. He was known to many as "Windy" - which was his trucker name. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Bible Church and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed shooting, playing cards on his tablet, his two dogs (Gracie and Bartley), and spending time with his friends and family. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at Tippecanoe Cemetery, Winamac, with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will follow. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
