WINAMAC - Lucille Marie “Lucy” White Thompson, 90, of Rochester, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Wardell, MO to the late James Elmer and Hazel Alma Button White.

In her younger years, Mrs. Thompson worked in the cotton fields of Missouri. Having only completed the third grade, she was even so able to achieve a CNA license and worked in local nursing homes for over 30 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening, fishing and caring for her pet squirrels. She was well-known for her homemade noodles. She also enjoyed collecting owl figurines. She loved children, especially looking after them at the bus stop. She cared for those children as if they were her own. Most of all, she loved her family very much. She will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. (Friday), at the funeral home. Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Gladys Allen
October 22, 1925 to December 17, 2018
WINAMAC - Gladys Allen, 93, of Winamac (formerly of Merrillville) passed away at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, at the Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Leachville, AR to the late Willie and Rosie Price Bellah. She married Leamon Allen on Feb. 16, 1955 in Gary. He passed away Sept. 17, 2011.

Mrs. Allen was a founding member of the Assembly of God Church in Winamac. She was proud to be a Master Beautician. She owned and operated her own beauty shop and also did hair at local nursing homes for years.She enjoyed cooking and baking as well as fishing and socializing. Most of all,She loved her family, especially the grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home with Pastors Heath Hiatt and Jim Howard officiating. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery in Rochester.

FRANCESVILLE - Marian B. Alberding, 97, of Gatesville, TX (formerly of Jasper and Pulaski counties) passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, in Gatesville.
She was born April 5, 1921 in Chicago, to the late Jacob and Marie Hanus Kendzora. On Oct. 17, 1942, she married Kenneth Alberding. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2017.

Mrs. Alberding was a member of the First Baptist Church in Francesville. She served her Lord as a kindergarten Sunday School teacher for over 40 years.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at First Baptist Church, Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., Friday, at the church with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating. Burial will be at San Pierre Cemetery, San Pierre.

MEDARYVILLE - Christine J. Terry, 55, Medaryville, passed away 9:05 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
She was born Aug. 24, 1963 in Chicago. She graduated from Portage High School in Portage. She had worked as a CNA at several different hospitals in the area.

Ms. Terry was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #96 in Medaryville. She loved animals and was known to rescue pit bulls from the animal shelter. She was a kind and generous woman who always opened her home and her heart to anyone in need. She cherished her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Decc.17, at New Beginnings Church, Winamac. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Medaryville American Legion, Medaryville.

WINAMAC - Ricky Lee Wallace, 64, of Winamac, passed away at 2:23 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac, following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born March 4, 1954 in Winamac to the late Theodore and Rosanna Faye Swope Wallace. He graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1972.

Mr. Wallace was employed as a truck driver for Krulik Trucking LLC. He was previously a deputy for the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and a patrolman for the Winamac Police Department. W-4 was incredibly proud of the time he spent on the force, and the dear friends he made along the way. He also served on the Star City Volunteer Fire Department. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed shooting, camping, fishing and gardening. He loved spending time on the Tippecanoe River kayaking, and canoeing, road tripping and traveling with friends and his love, Sally, and being an amazing, fun loving, epic claw-giving Pop Pop to his nine grandchildren. He was a proud member of the NRA. He loved his family and friends, and his smile and kind demeanor will be missed and mourned forever. He was quiet, but when he spoke, people listened. He loved cold beer, free beer, and reminding his loved ones to check their tire pressure and change their oil. His siblings remember him as the one who could talk them into anything.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Although Tirzah was born with Trisomy 18, her family was privileged to have known her and loved her. They will always cherish each memory made while cuddling her and looking into her beautiful eyes. Tirzah brought out tenderness, self-sacrifice, and generosity in those who loved and cared for her. She was Heaven's angel disguised for us to see, to teach us the power of weakness, trust, and humility. MEDARYVILLE - Ruth Elaine Stout Oliver, 79, of Valparaiso, formerly of Medaryville and Chesterton, passed away peacefully at 7:21 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Golden Living Center, where she had resided the past eight years.
She was born June 11, 1939 in Medaryville to the late Berl and Merl Stotler Stout, and raised by her uncle and aunt, the late W. Dale and Emma Stout.

Mrs. Stout was a proud homemaker, a beautiful pianist and a devout Christian. She was a church pianist and choir director. She enjoyed baking and cooking, as well as gardening and canning. Her purpose in life and reason for living was her family. She will be sadly missed.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville, with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Burial will be at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.
