MEDARYVILLE - Roy Fairchild, 90, Medaryville, passed away at 12:35 p.m., Sunday, July 1, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte.
He was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Greenup Co., KY, to the late Richard and Florence Collinsworth Fairchild. He married Opal Collinsworth on July 7, 1942 in Greenup Co., KY. She died Oct. 22, 2011.

Before moving to Indiana in 1942, Mr. Fairchild worked in the coal mines in Kentucky. He also worked at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant in Indiana. He was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Bible Church in Francesville. He enjoyed gardening and selling produce. Mr. Fairchild and his wfie also spent several years operating a traveling concession stand. He loved his family very much and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Thursday, July 5), at the funeral home with Pastor Leonard Allen officiating.Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Medaryville.
Memorial donations may be given to the Pleasant Ridge Bible Church.
