4-H Junior Leaders organize egg hunt for over 100 children

The Pulaski County 4-H Junior Leaders held their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Star City Park on April 12  and more than 100 children attended.

Families from Star City, Winamac, Kewanna , Pulaski, Francesville, and Culver were able to hunt for eggs filled with candy and prizes.

“I help with the Egg Hunt at Star City because I enjoy seeing younger members of our community smiling and enjoying their day,” said Brooke Daugherty, 4-H and Junior Leader member.

The Junior Leaders organized all the youth, ages 0-5th grade, into age groups. Each age group had a designated area of the park where they hunted eggs. Some eggs had candy while others had a prize ticket. There were prizes for each age group. Prizes ranged from tractors and bubble kits to pillow pets and gift certificates.

Junior Leaders is part of the 4-H Program and provides 7-12 graders the opportunity to gain valuable leadership, communication and organizational skills by assisting with community service projects. Junior Leader club members traveled throughout the county to local businesses asking for donations, helped to publicize the event and helped with the set-up and clean-up of the Egg Hunt.
