Winamac HS students perform at State Fair Talent Show

Among the food stands, rides, and vendors at the Indiana State Fair, many performance venues also exist highlighting talents of every age. These featured performances exemplify a strong commitment to the arts.

One of these exciting performances is held annually on the stage of the Indiana State Fairground's Farm Bureau Building. All first place winners of Indiana's 92 participating county fair talent shows are eligible to register at the Indiana State Fair Youth Talent Show.

Two Winamac Community High School students, who won in their performance categories at the Pulaski County Fair participated in the Indiana State Fair Youth Talent Show on Friday, Aug. 1.

Senior Joshua Tankersley and sophomore Anabella Niewiadomski performed to an enthusiastic crowd of spectators.

Tankersley performed the song, “Little Wonders,” which was featured by Rob Thomas in the film, Meet The Robinsons. Niewiadomski performed the operatic, Italian aria, “O Mio Babbino Caro” from the opera, Gianni Schicchi. Both students positively represented the Pulaski County community and both had their personal best performance.

WCHS Principal, Rick DeFries commented, “As principal at the high school, I am very proud of both Josh, and Anabella for their performances at the state fair. It's always nice when people from other communities get to hear the talent that we have here in Winamac.”
