JA raises over $5,000 at golf classic

Junior Achievement serving Pulaski County raised over $5,000 for financial education programs for area youth during its annual golf classic at Mystic Hills Golf Club earlier this summer.

Members of the JA board of directors worked hard soliciting friends, family, colleagues, and businesses to recruit teams to play in the event, securing sponsorships, and collecting prizes to support this annual fundraiser. Area coordinator, Julie Dyson, was thrilled to have 17 teams sign up to play for JA.

Galbreath Inc. served as the gold/title sponsor for the event. David Musselman of Indiana Farm Bureau, Plymouth Tube Company, Pulaski White Rural Telephone Cooperative, and First National Bank of Monterey were significant supporters as silver sponsors.

Jim Dobson Ford sponsored the hole-in-one opportunity to win a 24-month lease on a Ford Focus along with bonus prize opportunities. Louis Dreyfus Commodities sponsored the beverage cart for the players.

There were several games and competitions throughout the 18 holes to make the event fun for the players and volunteers working the outing. Players enjoyed a catered meal following their game, followed by awards and door prize presentations.

The community supported the outing with numerous hole sponsorships. Those sponsoring holes were: Alliance Bank, Braun Ability, Braun Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Budd Insurance, Carroll White REMC, Complete Electric, First Federal Bank & Trust, First National Bank of Monterey, Good Oil Company, Galbreath, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance-David Musselman, Jim Dobson Ford, Kokomo Grain, Kruz, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Marita Grisel, CPA, Plymouth Tube, Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Pulaski/White Rural Telephone Coop, Radio Shack/Ace Hardware, Roudebushco.com, Studio 218, Two Guys Mechanical, West Central Schools, and Winamac Coil Spring.
