PCCF awards $37,000 to 12 organizations

The Pulaski County Community Foundation’s community grant cycle recently culminated in an awards presentation to 12 organizations.

A total of  $37,000 from the Community Grants Fund was awarded, the largest amount to date through the Community Foundation’s competitive community grant process.

Following announcement of the annual grant opportunity earlier this fall, 26 applications were received, requesting almost $114,000.

Katie DeGroot, Grants Committee Chair, said, “There are many community needs, and when requests exceed the funds available, it makes the grant making task challenging. Ultimately, the committee was pleased to recommend a dozen projects covering a variety of areas and interests across the county.”  

Representatives from each of the grantee organizations were invited to attend the presentation to receive awards and tell about their grant projects. Grantees are required to report on the outcome and impact of grant projects upon completion.

Grant funding was awarded to the following entities for the projects named:  

  • Francesville-Salem Township Public Library – BRIDGES program 
  • Friends of Panhandle Pathway - Tools for the Trail II 
  • Humanitarian Distribution Center – Warehouse Upgrade 
  • Junior Achievement Serving Pulaski Co. - Economics for Success 
  • Pulaski Animal Center – Operation “FIX” 
  • Pulaski Co Girls Softball League – Softball Diamond Improvements 
  • St. Peter Roman Catholic Church – AED 
  • Star City United Methodist Church– Community Playground 
  • Starke/Pulaski Habitat for Humanity – Awareness & Promotion 
  • West Central Educational Foundation – Stepping into a Healthy Lifestyle  
  • West Central School Corporation – Vision Testing Machine 
  • West Central Elementary School – PAL Portable Swim Lift

The Pulaski County Community Foundation has awarded grants to 12 county organizations, totaling $37,000.
