Annual 'Shop with a Cop' builds positive relationship between youth, police

The Pulaski County annual "Shop with a Cop" event was held earlier this month with nearly 30 participants.

Police officers from Medaryville, Francesville, Winamac, DNR, and Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, entertained 26 invited guests to a lunch, a visit from Santa, and a police escort to Monticello Wal-Mart where they shopped for much needed clothes and, of course, toys.

The purpose of this national event, founded in 2000, is to foster positive relationships between youth and police officers. 

Sheriff Michael Gayer extended a heartfelt thanks to all those officers and the generous donors who made the event possible.
