'Mike' Tiede to replace 'Mick' Tiede on county council

Former Pulaski County Commissioner Michael "Big Mike" Tiede has been selected to fill the District 4 County Council seat vacated by Mick Tiede.

The decision was reached in a second-round vote of a recent Republican Party Caucus, as reported by Pulaski County Republican Party chairman Blair Todd.

Mick Tiede has given up his council seat in order to retain his part-time employment in the Pulaski County Assessor’s office. State and local statutes do not allow a county employee to hold a county council seat.

The caucus also considered Kent Kroft and Christopher Hudson for the District 4 county council seat which represents Salem, White Post and Cass townships

Mick Tiede was re-elected to the council last November. Mike Tiede will serve his four-year term.

The next Pulaski County Council meeting is Monday, March 9.
