Pulaski County Democrats choose new leaders

Laura Bailey has been chosen as the new chairperson of the Pulaski County Democrats.

She was appointed to fill the remainder of the term of Bill Reutebuch at the organization's regular central committee meeting March 7.

Reutebuch's resignation was accepted with regret. The resignation, offered at the Feb. 7 meeting, was tendered due Reutebuch's out-of-town work schedules and responsibilities.

John Plowman was selected to fill the remaining term of Bailey's term as vice chair.

"This is not an end to any relationship," said Bailey. "Bill has been a great asset to our party for many years, as a candidate and an officer. When his schedule allows, he knows he has a home here with the Pulaski County Democrats."

Other business discussed was the need to hold a town caucus in Monterey in the fall, selecting the year's activities, hosting the 2nd Congressional District 2 Democratic Meeting in April, and developing a traveling meeting for the monthly meetings to include more of the towns directly.

The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday,  April 11, at the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac.
