911 hang-up leads to woman wanted on Starke County warrant

A Medaryville woman wanted on a Starke County warrant was located Thursday night by Pulaski County police following a dropped 911 call.

Sadie A. Wireman, 53, was discovered at a Medaryville area residence and later transferred to the custody of the Starke County Sheriff's office.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s 911 Communications Center received a 911 open line call at 9:26 p.m., Thursday (March 26), from an unknown subject. The communications officer reported hearing only voices in the background until the call was either dropped or disconnected. Per the Communications Center policy, the number was contacted back and the phone was answered by an adult male who stated that his two-year-old son had accidentally hit the emergency button and called 911 and that there was not an emergency, according to the police report.

Information regarding the caller’s location was obtained and per sheriff’s department policy, deputies were dispatched to 15385 W 160 N in reference to a welfare check.

While at the location, Corporal Travis Clark observed Wireman. Clark had previously been advised that Wireman was wanted on a warrant out of Starke County for revocation of probation for possession of a controlled substance (D Felony).

The warrant was confirmed and Wireman was taken into custody and transferred to the custody of the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.
