Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A Winamac woman, wanted on two drug-related warrants, was apprehended by Pulaski County police Saturday (April 4), during a traffic stop in rural Jefferson Township.

Patrinia Diana Hall 33, was taken into custody and transported to Pulaski County Jail. She will face additional charges.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the area of SR 39 N and CR 100 N, Saturday, when they observed a subject who was the passenger of a vehicle who they knew to be wanted on a warrant. 

At 6:33 p.m.,, K-9 Corporal Travis Clark stopped the vehicle, a Gray 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Cpl. Clark, along with Deputy Aaron Heims, made contact with the passenger, Hall.

It was determined that Hall was indeed wanted on two Pulaski County warrants. 

While initially attempting to stop the vehicle, Cpl. Clark also observed that the passenger had thrown an article from the vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the object which appeared to be drug paraphernalia. Cpl. Clark at that time retrieved his partner, K-9 Gil and conducted a free air sniff test around the exterior of the vehicle. Gil alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. 

A search of the vehicle was conducted and inside Hall’s purse was a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, a substance that tested positive for marijuana, and Oxycontin pills in a cellophane wrapper.

- Failure to Appear for Final Pre-Trial Conference for: 

 Count I: Possession of Methamphetamine (D Felony) 

 Count II: Possession of a Synthetic Drug (A Misdemeanor) 

 Count III: Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor) 

Count IV: Possession of Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor) 

- Failure to Appear for Small Claims 

 

New charges: 

- Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony) 

- Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor) 

- Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony) 

- Possession of Paraphernalia (A Misdemeanor) 

- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (A Misdemeanor)
