Sheriff's office can accept unused prescription medicines

Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine has announced that his office has upgraded its ability to accept unused prescription medications.

A grant for this service, offered by CVS, was applied for earlier in the year and was awarded by CVS this week.

Previously, the sheriff’s office accepted unwanted prescription medicine, but lacked a secure method for receiving such medicines. The CVS grant provides a container that is secure and similar to a mailbox. Residents wanting to properly dispose of unused prescriptions may enter the lobby of the Justice Center and place their items in the locked box.

Sheriff Richwine extends his thanks to CVS for the grant which allows the sheriff’s office to provide this invaluable service while saving the taxpayers the $600 cost of purchasing a similar receptacle.
