Indinana State Fairgrounds & Event Center: Where fun happens all year

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center lives up to its name not only during the first few months of year, but all year long.

The year-round event center annually hosts more than 300 jam-packed, crowd-drawing events. An estimated 171,000 people attended events such as the Indianapolis Home Show and Winterfest at the Fairgrounds in January, while February and March promise even more exciting weekends.

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center maintains efficient operating standards so that the facility can accommodate large crowds and multiple events almost every week of the year.

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Events Center features 27 venues on a 250-acre campus. Visitors can look forward to several shows guaranteed to attract an array of audiences.

February 12-14 World of Wheels—57th annual World of Wheels presented by Ray Skillman brings America’s finest hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles to the Fairgrounds for a weekend event.

February 14 Mike Epps—The Fairgrounds welcomes the Mike Epps: Don’t Take It Personal tour on Valentine’s Day in the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, with special guests Tommy Davidson, Cocoa Brown and Rickey Smiley. Tickets are available online  and at the box office located in Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

February 19-28 Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show—Ten days just might not be enough time to see and experience all the 62nd annual Ford Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel Show has to offer. Most anything an outdoor enthusiast can think of will be on display at the largest sport show in the nation including the Deer, Turkey & Waterfowl Expo and the Indiana Motorcycle Expo. 

March 12-20 Indiana Flower & Patio Show— The Indiana Flower and Patio Show will certainly feature flowers and patios but looking beyond the namesakes the show visitors will find much more, including extravagant showcases, exhibitor gardens crafted by many of Indiana’s premier landscapers, hundreds of finer outdoor living experts, and thousands of ideas to take home.

March 12-13 Brickworld Indy—Described as 45,000 square-feet of awe inspiring creativity, Brickworld displays  include trains, robots, cityscapes, space stations and much more. Brickworld offers a creativity playground for the entire family to enjoy and captures a piece of history this year, with the 26-foot long USS Missouri model.

March 18-20 Indy 1500 Gun & Knife Show—One of the largest Gun & Knife Shows east of the Mississippi returns to the Fairgrounds to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for consumers with an unmatched selection.

 

Fun doesn’t stop here. The entire year is filled with events sure to please all audiences, including the Hoosier Horse Fair & Expo,  Mecum Collector Car Auction, International Junior Bowling Championship, the National FFA Convention, 11 5K run/walks and more.

Don’t forget, voted 2014 Best of Indy best place to ice skate in Indianapolis, the Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion reopens public skating March 5 through March 31. Hours are available online.
