PCPL partners with hoopla digital to give patrons online and mobile access to free movies, music, eBooks, more

Library cardholders can instantly explore, borrow, enjoy dynamic content on smartphones, tablets, PCs

The Pulaski County Public Library has announced the public availability of thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, eBooks, audiobooks, and comics, all available for mobile and online access through a new partnership with hoopla digital.

Cardholders of the Pulaski County Public Library district can now download the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or iOS device or visit the library’s website at www.pulaskcounty.lib.in.us to begin enjoying thousands of titles from major Hollywood studios, record companies, and publishers. Items are available 24/7 for instant streaming or temporary downloading to users’ smartphones, tablets, and computers.

“Each year we aim to raise the bar and deliver a higher standard of library service to our patrons,” says MacKenzie Ledley, executive director at the library. “With hoopla digital’s free content, easy-to-use interface, and elimination of late fees, we’ve been able to enhance our collection and library experience more than ever.”

Hoopla digital allows simultaneous access to all items in its collection, meaning that there are no wait times or holds—users can borrow an item even if another patron already has it checked out. Users can download or stream five items per month.  Items are returned automatically at the end of the loan period, so there are no late fees.

“We know that our library patrons want to have the ability to access materials whenever and wherever is convenient for them,” says Ledley. “We hope that members of the community will take advantage of this new opportunity to access movies, music, and more anytime, anywhere with hoopla digital.”
