Eastern Pulaski Elementary School PTA receives Community Foundation Grant

WINAMAC - Eastern Pulaski Elementary School PTA has received a $3,318 grant from the Community Grants Fund through the Community Foundation of Pulaski County.

This grant will go to support efforts to create additional opportunities on playgrounds for students to embrace living a healthy life.

This grant provides EPES the opportunity to introduce students to a fun, high paced game called GAGA. It will provide opportunities for movement, team play, and collaboration.

Leaders at Eastern Pulaski Elementary School announced the winning grant from the Community Foundation for the "Going Gaga for Gaga Pits" just in time for spring outside recess.

Such an achievement represents another quality collaboration between generous community donors, the Winamac Community High School construction class, and the students at Eastern Pulaski Elementary. EPES is grateful for the Community Foundation’s annual grant program.

“After the long winter, students are eager to enjoy the new Gaga Pits that have been installed at EPES," principal Jill Collins said in reaction to the news. “Having the opportunity for our students to find innovative ways to be active and have fun is an important part of the school day. We are thankful for the spring-like weather and the return of outside recess. We hope that students will continue to utilize our playground equipment and the Gaga Pits during the summer months as well."
