Star City Lions spearhead effort to restore Community Building

STAR CITY - Star City now has a stabilized Community Building that will stand the test of time and weather.

The old roof had been failing for some years, leaking and creating water damage throughout. The organizations that relied on this building to hold their events and fundraisers wondered how long they would be able to continue. Another facility to hold this scope of meetings and events is not available in Star City.

In an effort to preserve this building for generations to come, the Star City Lions Club put together a coalition of funders to meet the need.

The following individuals and organizations donated money for the project: Arrow Head County RC&D, Carroll White REMC, Community Foundation of Pulaski County, Fulton County REMC, Indiana Lions Foundation, Lions Club International, NIPSCO, Snowball Endowment Fund, Star City Community Fund, Star City Lions Club, Chuck Brust, Melvin Good and Alvin Parish.

With the commitment of the Van Buren Township Trustee, Lenora Hoover, to provide maintenance and repair, the community is assured of a meeting place for decades to come.

The community and the Star City Lions extend their grateful appreciation to everyone who made the completion of this project possible.
