FRANCESVILLE - Two Monticello residents were held, and a third suspect is sought, on burglary and drug charges stemming from a police chase in the rural Francesville area, at about 2 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2.

Taken into police custody were Brittany L. Bonnell, 24, and William L. Naydol, 34, both of Monticello.

On that night, deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the area of SR 39 and CR 400 S, near the Jefferson/Beaver township line, in reference to a “911 Open Line.”

Deputies arrived on scene and encountered a male and female subject occupying a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. Deputies attempted to stop the subjects and the subjects fled the area in the vehicle.

A motor vehicle pursuit ensued from the residence southbound on SR 39 toward White County. The vehicle, with an attached trailer, continued to travel at a high rate of speed and was observed all over the roadway.

About three miles down the highway, in the area of SR 39 and CR 700S, the vehicle left the roadway and eventually stopped in a cornfield. Deputies reached the vehicle and located Bonnell inside of the vehicle. She was taken into custody and later transported to the Pulaski County Jail.

The male subject was found to have fled the vehicle on foot. Additional deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the White County Sheriff’s Department and Monticello Police Department were called to the location to assist with locating Naydol.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office canine Thor was utilized to track Naydol, who was found in a field south of the vehicle’s location. Naydol was taken into custody and transported to the Pulaski County Jail.

A second male subject was identified as being at the residence prior to the motor vehicle pursuit. At this time, this person has not been located.

Further investigation resulted in articles on the trailer being confirmed as stolen from the initial residence, and a substantial amount of methamphetamine was located inside of the vehicle.
