Police seeking armed robber of Monon bank

MONON - Alliance Bank in Monon was robbed of an undisclosed amount of US currency, at about 10:45 a.m., Monday, the Indiana State Police report.

The armed robber remains at large. No one was injured in the incident.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a white male, approximately 6'-1" tall wearing a light gray stocking cap with a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, walked into the bank and demanded money from one of the tellers. A handgun was displayed and after receiving the money the suspect left the bank heading south on Market Street, on foot.

U.S. 421 was closed in the area for awhile during the investigation. Police used K-9 officers to help search for the suspect.

Assisting at the scene were Troopers from the Indiana State Police at the Lafayette and Lowell Post, ISP Field Investigations Division from the Lafayette Post, Monon Police Department, White County Sheriff’s Department, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Francesville Police Department and Brookston Police Department.

The investigation continues.
