Monterey Days Festival Sept. 1-4

MONTEREY - The 20th annual Monterey Days Festival will run Friday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 4, over Labor Day weekend in downtown Monterey.

The annual parade will step off at 4:30 p.m., Saturday. The traditional American Legion Ox Roast will begin at 11 a.m., Labor Day.

The festival schedule is as follows:

 

Friday, Sept. 1

6 pm - Craft & Food Booths Open

8 to 10 pm - Gaming Event (park pavilion) Mario Cart (ages 6-11 and 12-17)

 

Saturday, Sept. 2

8 - 10:30 am - Knights of Columbus Pancake & Sausage Breakfast

8 am - 3 pm - Town-wide Yard Sales

9 am - 10 pm - Craft & Food Booths Open

9 am - Free blood pressure screenings - Monterey Clinic with Warren Penrod

10:30 am to 6:30 pm - Free Climbing Wall, Giant Inflatable Slide & Knocker Balls

11 am - ? - Methodist Church Potato Bar

11 am & 1 pm - 1,2,3, Come Paint With Me ( kids under 12 at 11 am, Adults at 1 pm)

11:30 am - Loehmer's Hardware Kids Pedal Tractor Pull

12 noon to 1 pm - Open Karaoke with Dan the Man

1 to 2 pm - Miss Tippy Teen Pageant (13-18 year-old girls)

2 to 4:30 pm - Open Karaoke with Dan the Man

4:30 pm - MONTEREY DAYS PARADE (check-in 2:30 pm / judging 3:30 pm)

5:45 to 6:30 pm - Festival Auction (Main Stage) (Donated/Vendor items), register at 5:30 pm

6:45 to 7:30 pm - Nightshift Band (Free Concert at Main Street Stage) sponsored by REMC

7:30 - 9 pm - Free Live Pro Male & Female Wrestling - (bring your own chair) Main Street

 

Sunday, Sept. 3

9 - 10 am - Religious Service in Park Pavilion: Eugene & Cheryl Berg

10 am to 12 noon - Kids Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest - Sponsor by Don & Ruth Zehner/Yelaska Family

10 am - MDF Bike Tour begins - Sign in starts 10 am at town hall 

10 to 10:30 am - Turtle/Frog Races (bring your own) sponsor: Widner & Sons Excavating

10:30 to 11 am - Potato Sack Race & Egg Toss Game

11 am to 6 pm - Free Rugged Adventures - Safe Archery

11 am to 12 noon - Free Throw Conest ($5 entry fee) 14 & under, 15-20 years-old, 21 & over

12:30 to 1 pm - Kalita Magic show (Park Pavilion) sponsor: NIPSCO

1 to 1:30 pm - Tippecanoe Christian Church Puppet Show

7 to 8 pm - Family Scavenger Hunt - register at info booth at 6:45 pm

8 - 10 pm - Free Movie In the Park "The Goonies" - all ages. Bring a lawn chair 

 

Monday, Sept. 4

10:30 am - Corn Hole Tournament (Registration runs from 9:30 to 10:30 am) 

11 am - 4 pm - COLLINS TASCH POST #399 OX ROAST, BINGO and SAL DUCK RACE
