West Central seniors, parents attend Senior Information Night

FRANCESVILLE - West Central High School hosted its first annual Senior Information Night, Aug. 21.

The purpose of the event was to share information about applying to college, financial aid opportunities, scholarship opportunities, tips for completing scholarship applications, and college savings plans.

After a welcome by West Central High School Principal Patrick Culp, Kim Krause from the Community Foundation of Pulaski County and Brienne Hooker from the Jasper Foundation, Inc., presented attendees with information about the Lilly Scholarship opportunity, as well as the many other scholarships available to West Central seniors through their respective organizations. They also shared their tips for successful completion of any scholarship application.

West Central High School Counselor Marci Kennedy finished the evening’s presentation by sharing essential information for seniors and their parents with regard to applying to college, financial aid, and the West Central Scholarship application.

At the close of the evening, West Central Superintendent Don Street encouraged parents to investigate the benefits of contributing to an Indiana College Choice 529 College Savings Plan for current seniors or younger children.

Parents and students who attended were treated to pizza, drinks and cookies provided through the generous support of the Community Foundation of Pulaski County, the Jasper Foundation, Inc. and the West Central Athletic Department.
