CFPC awards youth grants

Two county youth organizations have recently been awarded grants totaling $800 through the Good Oil/BP Youth Philanthropy Fund.

Checks were presented to Boy Scout Troop #229 to support their 2018 Summer Camp, and to the Winamac Community High School Arts Department for “Sculpting Clay/Shaping Futures” project.

The Youth Philanthropy Fund was created by Good Oil in 2012 to improve existing programs or create new youth projects to improve the local schools or community, and since its creation more than $7,500 has been awarded through 16 youth grants.

The fund was originally created as a non-permanent fund in the Community Foundation of Pulaski County, and the grants awarded to the Boy Scouts and Arts Department this year represent the final awards from the Youth Philanthropy Fund.

Individuals impacted by these grants over the years may acknowledge the Good Oil Company for its role in helping familiarize local youth with the concept and benefits of philanthropy and for continued commitment to our youth.
