Daughters of the American Revolution names award recipients

The Metamonong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has recognized two local high school seniors as the recipients of this year’s Good Citizens Award.

Jerod Glasford of West Central High School and Emma Eldridge of Winamac Community High School were selected by teachers and peers for this award based on their leadership, service, and patriotism.

Each student completed an essay titled “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It” to determine the chapter’s state finalist would be Jerod Glasford.

The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest was created in 1934 to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The Metamonong Chapter congratulates these seniors on their outstanding accomplishments.
