Sarah M. Bleicher

WINAMAC - Sarah Margaret Bleicher, 91, of Indianapolis, (formerly of LaPorte) passed away at 5:45 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

She was born Dec. 26, 1927 in Francesville, to the late Herman and Irene Margaret Hackett Nightengale. She grew up in Winamac and spent most of her life in LaPorte. She married Arthur E. Bleicher who preceded her in death on April 16, 1983.

Mrs. Bleicher was a proud wife of a World War II veteran and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was retired from Howmet factory in LaPorte and was a member of the Howmet Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed volunteering at the local senior center and serving meals on wheels. She loved her dachshund, Pepper. She devoted her life to her husband and children. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home with Arthur E. Bleicher III officiating. Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be made to LaPorte Senior Center or VFW Auxiliary.
