Elizabeth A. Dilts Applegate
June 24, 1923 to November 22, 2018
BLOOMINGTON - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Dilts Applegate, 95, died peacefully in Kingwood, TX, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Thursday, Nov. 22.
She was born June 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Russell A. and Lenora M. Obright Dilts of Winamac. In 1944 she married her grade-school sweetheart Karl Edwin Applegate of Winamac, a union that celebrated its 67th year in 2011.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Canada, CO; son Raymond Applegate (Rachel) of TX; son Bob Applegate (Vicki) of WI; and daughter Beth Applegate (Trish Kerle’) of Bloomington. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband K. Edwin Applegate; son Eric Applegate; and brothers John, Dick, Alan, Moses, Tom, Robert and Dan Dilts.
After raising her family, Mrs. Applegate returned to Indiana University to study interior design, and established a successful design business, Gateway Interiors. In addition, she, Sally Cook and other community-minded women turned what was once a small grocery store on the west side of Bloomington into a nonprofit, dedicated to providing used merchandise of reasonable quality at rock-bottom prices. Opportunity House is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018.
She served for decades in other Bloomington-area service organizations. For 17 years she served Alpha Chi Omega Sorority in a variety of positions, including as a chapter advisor and president of the board. She was a long-standing member and former president of one of the Bloomington Tri-Kappa Chapters and was a 50-year member of the Bloomington Chapter of Eastern Star and PEO and served as PEO President. She was an active member of the Monroe County Library Board of Directors, founded and served as director of the Bloomington Foster Home, and served as the director of the Methodist Youth for the First Methodist Church. In addition, she held several other local, state and national leadership roles including as president of the Monroe County School Foundation Board and president of the Indiana Lawyers Auxiliary, ending her tenure as the national president of the American Lawyers Auxiliary. She was recognized in 2013 by the City of Bloomington when she received the Be More Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Mrs. Applegate's body will be cremated and her remains will be placed in the First Methodist Church, Columbarium where her husband and eldest son Eric also rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Betty Applegate to the Opportunity House https://ophousethrift.og/. A memorial in Bloomington will be announced at a future date.

Lynne A. Frankki Colford
May 30, 1965 to January 15, 2019
ROYAL CENTER - Lynne A. Frankki Colford, 53, of Royal Center passed away at 12:39 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born May 30, 1965 in Ogema, Wis., she was the daughter of George and Diane (Rademacher) Frankki. She was a West Central High School graduate.
Survivors include her children, Matthew Colford (Tabitha) of Royal Center, Nathaniel Colford (Alicia) of North Carolina, and Sabrina Colford (Brittney) of Logansport; her parents, Diane and Larry Disinger of Francesville; brother, Beau Disinger of Francesville; grandchildren, Cailyn Colford, Conner Colford and Ian Sparger; sisters-in-law, Nancy Colford of Wisconsin and Nina Colford (Gene) of Royal Center; brothers-in-law, Tim Colford (Colleen) of Wisconsin, Steve Colford of Logansport, Scott Colford of Logansport, and Dave Colford of Logansport. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Frankki, and sister, Laura Fox.
Mrs. Colford was employed at the cafeteria at Pioneer Junior/Senior High School. She also cleaned the Royal Center United Methodist Church. She attended Lifegate Church in Logansport. She enjoyed her cats and parakeets over the years, but spending time with her grandchildren is what meant the most to her.
A memorial visitation and gathering will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory, Royal Center.

Rosella I. Bucher
February 10, 1924 to January 21, 2019
FRANCESVILLE - Rosella I. Bucher, 94, of Francesville, passed away at 12:40 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at White Oak Health Campus, Monticello.
She was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Cissna Park, IL to the late William E. and Minnie Barth Feller. She graduated from Cissna Park High School in 1942 and attended Gallagher's Business School in Kankakee, IL. On Aug. 3, 1947, she married Wallace A. "Wally" Bucher. They were married 60 years before he passed away Feb. 4, 2008.

Mrs. Bucher often assisted her husband at household auctions, but was most proud of being a homemaker. She had a deep faith in Jesus and was a faithful member of the Francesville Apostolic Christian Church. She loved her church family dearly. She was creative and enjoyed many hobbies. Especially gifted in the art of stitchery, she crafted many embroidered and crocheted items for loved ones over the years. She loved making others feel special by making and sending greeting cards on birthdays and other occasions. She loved to entertain family and friends. In the summertime, she would host "cousin camp" for the grandchildren. Family gatherings brought great joy to her, and she had a way of making those around her feel special. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Saturday), at the funeral home with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Mrs. Bucher had a heart and passion for missions; therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Apostolic Christian Harvest Call.

Dwight E. Goble
May 3, 1935 to January 19, 2019
WINAMAC - Dwight E. "Boob" Goble, 83, of Winamac, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19.

He was born May 3, 1935 in Winamac to the late Melfred "Pete" and Martha B. Keplar Goble. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1954 and later served in U.S. Army.
Mr. Goble was a lifelong resident and farmer of Pulaski County. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, American Trapshooting Association and Indiana Trapshooters Association. He was recently inducted into the ITA Hall of Fame. He was a true outdoorsman who cared deeply for both his friends and neighbors as well as any type of animal. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be at Paul's Chapel Cemetery, rural Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pulaski County 4-H Shooting Sports.

February 5, 1936 to January 20, 2019
FRANCESVILLE - Harlan E. "Harley" Tomlinson, 82, of Monticello (formerly of Monon), passed away at 12:32 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, at Monticello Health Care.
He was born Feb. 5, 1936 in Logansport, to the late George and Loda Sherman Tomlinson. He married Phyllis Fritz on Aug. 5, 1963 in Winamac. She survives.

Mr. Tomlinson served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School in 1954 and Liberty Bible College. He attended Tri-County Bible Church in Remington. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and working outside in the yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday, Jan. 23. at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. (ET), Wednesday, at the funeral home. Military services will be held at the funeral home following the service. Entombment will be at Roseland Cemetery at a later date.

WINAMAC - Lowell L. Reinhold, 98, of Winamac (formerly of Monterey), passed away at 6:28 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac
He was born Jan. 16, 1921 in Monterey, to the late Valentine F. and Mabel Bitterling Reinhold. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1938. On Dec. 24, 1939, he married Susie V. Calhoun. She passed away July 19, 2009. The couple were longtime members of the Monterey United Methodist Church.

Mr. Reinhold was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Monterey area. He was a good neighbor and friend; always willing to help fellow farmers when they needed it. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially farming and gardening as well as caring for farm animals. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

WINAMAC - George Joseph Wyma, Sr., 81, of Logansport, passed away at 10 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Hickory Creek in Peru.
He was born Feb. 13, 1937 in Chicago, to the late George and Anna Green Wyma. On July 7, 1965, he married Holly J. Eagle. She survives.

Mr. Wyma was dedicated to his family whom he loved very much. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball with his family. He also enjoyed being able to volunteer with Special Olympics. In recent years, he could be found cruising Logansport in his Hoveround. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 1, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. (Friday), at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
